Dormant Pruning & Trimming — Plants, Shrubs & Ornamental Trees
No stock photos, no renderings dressed up as results — every picture on this page is our own work on real Northeast Ohio properties. Tap a trade to see the full list.
Ryan Breiding is third-generation in the green industry — his grandfather founded the family's lawn and landscape business back in 1954. Ryan started in the trade in his late teens and has spent 20+ years designing, building, and caring for outdoor spaces across Northeast Ohio.
His training started early and serious: as a teenager he worked for The Davey Tree Expert Company, where he was trained and certified as an arborist and taught to climb — and where his advanced horticultural pruning and trimming training comes from. In those same years he served in the Ohio Army National Guard, rising to Sergeant (E-5) — and he still runs every job like the mission and the people come first. When his father was injured in a tree-work accident, Ryan stepped up and carried the family trade himself — the pivot that turned a teenager's training into a life's work.
He went on to build a landscape and tree company to seven figures, to serve as head of sales & landscape design at a regional landscaping firm, and to earn his CAC — Certified Aquascape Contractor credential from Aquascape Inc., the certification behind the water features and swim ponds he's known for. His education includes an Associate degree in Management from the University of Phoenix.
Today, R.P. Breiding Landscape is Ryan's company on his own terms: small on purpose, quality first. When you hire this company, the man who designs your project is the man who shows up to build it — and the man who answers the phone next season.
“If someone's going to pay for quality work, you do quality work.”
How we work
We're always innovating and growing — finding the best technology and equipment to increase efficiency on every project and lower costs for the client. We're not a charity; we're a business. But it's our job to provide the best rate we can for our clients, and real value along the way.
Clients first. Value always. That's the whole business model.

Whole-Property New Build
Design · Install · Boulders · Grading
A brand-new house on a bare, mud-graded lot — and a blank canvas. Ryan designed and sold the whole-property landscape: sandstone boulder edging and retaining walls, planted beds with a weeping spruce and grasses, drainage lines where temporary downspout pipes used to lie, an urn bubbler fountain on a river-rock bed, a fire-pit circle backed by massive outcropping boulders, gravel drive and shed pad, and a seeded lawn throughout. Watch the finished walkthrough, then see where it started.

Woodland Water Garden
Water Feature · Mature Garden
This property carries a mature woodland water garden: a meandering stream with tiered sandstone cascades and clear pools, driftwood worked into the falls, a carved wooden heron at the top fall, and the water spilling into a still pool below. A flagstone path and steps wind past a wooden gazebo on a stone base, a small footbridge, moss-covered boulders, and a pink mountain laurel in bloom. Fully grown in — and running crystal clear. This clip is the stream in autumn.
And the same garden in spring — dianthus and catmint in bloom along the falls, fresh black mulch, moss on the boulders, and the heron standing at the top fall:

16-Foot Pondless Waterfall
Pondless Build · Aquascape
A 16-foot pondless water feature (Aquascape system) tucked into a side yard between the house and a retaining wall — all the sound and movement of a waterfall, with the water disappearing into a hidden basin instead of an open pond. Extras: a flat stone bridge slab mid-stream and natural stump accents. Here's the build, step by step:
This brick home is a long-running care relationship: crisp black-mulch beds with hostas and shrubs, sharp edging, and a clean lawn line. The signature detail is at the downspouts — small dry creeks of river rock Ryan installed to carry roof water through the beds instead of washing them out. Simple, sharp, and it works every storm.

Pool, Pavilion & Fire-Pit Backyard
Outdoor Living · Pool · Pavilion
A full backyard built for staying outside: a covered pool, a timber pavilion with a stacked-stone fireplace and outdoor kitchen, a curved stone fire-pit bench wall, fresh fence-line beds with an arborvitae privacy screen, black mulch and boulders, and a reseeded lawn to tie it together.

Full-Property Install on the Golf Course
Full-Property Install · Beds & Boulders
A white house with stone wainscot backing straight onto a golf course — and a full-property install to match the view: curved front beds with boulders and a weeping spruce, deep black-mulch beds along every side of the house, patio beds, fence-line plantings along the fairway path, and a new lawn seeded under straw.
This is the work everybody in Northeast Ohio needs between now and the first real snow — cleanups, cut-backs, winterizing, and the projects that are better finished now than fought over in the spring rush. Book it while the calendar still has room.

Fall Cleanups — You Rake Nothing
Full-property leaf cleanups: lawns cleared, beds cleaned out, every leaf hauled away. You rake nothing — we handle the whole mess and leave the yard reset for winter.
Already have a pile at the curb? That's Scott's department.
Leaf pickup runs through our good friend Scott Matovich of STM Landscape — he runs the leaf vacuum truck at his standard rates — you book with Scott directly. Text him your address, a picture of your pile, and how soon you need it gone. Pile at the curb? Scott vacuums it — see Leaf Vacuuming below for how it works.

Leaf Vacuuming — Curbside Pile Pickup
R.P. Breiding now offers leaf vacuuming through our good friend Scott Matovich of STM Landscape. Scott runs the leaf vacuum truck at his standard rates, and you book with him directly. Rake or blow your leaves to the curb and they're gone: no bagging, no dragging tarps, no guessing when the city truck is coming. To get on his route, text Scott three things:
1
Your address
Text Scott your address — that's how he works you into the route.
2
A picture of your pile
One quick phone photo tells him exactly what he's rolling up to — no surprises for anybody.
3
How soon you need it gone
Today, this week, before the weekend guests land — tell him the timeline and he'll slot you in.
Snow plowing is our own service — R.P. Breiding trucks, R.P. Breiding routes, right here in the West Akron area. Seasonal routes fill ahead of the first storm, so get your driveway on the list now instead of after you're snowed in. Start your project below and we'll follow up with your per-push rate and route details.
Type your address and the map flies straight to your property. Tap the corners of the area you want serviced — the driveway, a parking lot, a section of lawn — and you'll get the square footage and a ballpark price on the spot. No tape measure, no guessing.
Enter your address and we'll fly the map to your property — then tap the corners of the area you want measured.
What are we measuring?
The satellite map needs an internet connection to load. Check your connection and reload the page to measure your property here — or skip the map: start your project and we'll measure everything on the site visit, or call 330-810-1432.
Tap or click the map to drop a point at each corner of the area. The outline closes itself — the square footage updates live as you go.

Ballpark only — your final quote comes after we see the property. And a quick word on why the number matters: we're not asking so we can take all your money. Knowing the size of the job helps us design the work to fit your budget — it might come in less, and if it comes in more, we talk about scope and scale. Serving you, not the project, is goal number one. One more thing: these figures are this tool's rough planning estimates only — the snow plowing ballparks are our own rates, and your final quote comes after we see the property.

Build your project
Everything starts right here. Tell us what you're picturing — it takes about two minutes — and we'll follow up with next steps. No phone tag, no pressure.
Step 1 of 5
What are we building?
Pick everything that applies — most projects mix a few of these together.
Nothing picked yet
About how big is the space?
A rough guess is fine — we measure everything properly on the site visit.
What is your budget?
Pick the range closest to what you've set aside for this project.
We’re not asking for your budget so we can take all your money. Our designers need to know what you’ve saved — your hard-earned money — to invest in your dreams, so we don’t over-design it and we don’t under-design it. If we know your budget, we can design right to that number. It might come in less. If it comes in more, we talk about scope and scale. It’s all a process — our number one goal is serving you, not the project. Then we have fun, and we build your project.
Tell us about the space
What does it look like now, and what are you picturing? Shade, slope, drainage headaches, a deadline — anything that helps us show up prepared.

This is a starting point, not a quote — final numbers come from your site walk.
One last step: the button below copies this summary and opens our short request form. Paste the summary into “Tell us about the project,” add your name and contact info, and hit submit — then we'll follow up.
Almost there — finish on the form

How it works
A quote without the runaround
No pressure, no wasted trips — for you or for us. Here's the whole process:
1
Tell us about the project

We look at the job before anyone drives anywhere, so nobody wastes a trip on a project that isn't a fit.

Quote & site visit
If it's a fit, you get a quote and a site visit — and the owner you talked to is the owner on the job.
R.P. Breiding Landscape Design & Consulting LLC is owner-operated and veteran-owned, based in Akron and serving all of Northeast Ohio.
That means the person who designs your project is the person who shows up to build it — and the person who answers when you call next season. Design, install, water features, tree care, and seasonal cleanups all run through one accountable owner, start to finish.
